With a vast knowledge about local climate and soil types,  brothers Peter and Warwick Butler pointed Rosie Butler and her husband Roger Tynan in the right direction it appears.

West of Waipawa are rolling, limestone hills that face the sun in a climate that lends itself to producing plump grapes in a stunning setting.

Rosie and Rodger are also producing Pinot Noir and Reisling from grapes growing in a secret location  where a small pocket of land with shallow soils overlying crumbly shells is producing grapes with concentrated fruit flavour.
